- Download the whole site right here.
- CLOSE design view in Dreamweaver and OPEN code view. Keep it that way until you LEARN to code the right way, by knowing the actual code!!!
- The body tag needs no # symbol.
- Do not put a space before your # symbol in the css doc.
- Do not put a space between your identifiers
- Do not use numbers in your identifiers. if you must (like in this document) - spell out the word. some servers have problems with css and numbers.
- Max-width has issues in a lot of browsers, do not use it.
- EVERYTHING except identifiers and hexidecimal color codes should be lowercase even font names.
- It works better if you add the px to all the measurements ALL the time like so: margin 0px 0px 0px 200px
- MAJOR IMPORTANCE: make sure you have no extra space at the very end of the document.
- Make sure you write your code like so: margin:(space)0px 0px 0px 0px;
- MAJOR IMPORTANCE: when specifying size (of 'div') you MUST also specify position as either absolute or relative AND the top and left (or right) positions
- Make sure that when you import (or link) your css file into your html doc that you remove the quotes that Dreamweaver automatically adds.
- get in the habit right now of adding closing tags to everything. especially </p>, </tr> and </td>
- forget <br> for spacing. that's right, just fuggitaboutit. use margins or padding in css or use <p> </p> or <p><br /></p> or <br />
- ALWAYS designate your z-index and visibility
